About

A recovering Navy Brat, I've lived most of my life in the beautiful state of Maine. I spent some time in the US Air Force before coming home to settle down and have two wonderful kids. I live with my favorite husband on a small hobby farm with a collection of goats, poultry, and waterfowl.
A jill of all trades (but master of none) I dabble in canning, gardening, and woodworking, but my passions are writing and doing Dressage with my pinto mare.
I love historical dramas like Downton Abbey, Outlander, The White Queen, and anything about Elizabeth I including The Virgin Queen. Cate Blanchett is my favorite Elizabeth.

Though Melissa Roberts lives alone, she chooses not to believe in superstitions. Locked in the rational prison of her closed imagination, she must open her mind and soul to that other place before it’s too late.
They're coming for her.

"This is not your average horror story. It’s for readers who crave emotional complexity, not just jump scares. If you’re drawn to ghost stories like Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House or Jennifer McMahon’s The Winter People—where psychological trauma and supernatural ambiguity coexist—you’ll find Straw Girl deeply rewarding." - OneTribune

"In Barry’s novel, a woman reflects on her experiences with the supernatural and how they ultimately led to her believe in ghosts—and in herself...Her unique path toward healing makes for a compelling work that deals just as much with metaphorical ghosts of the past as it does with real-life phantoms in the present." —Kirkus Reviews
